SAT and ACT Prep

You have been doing lots if studying in preparation for your SAT’s or ACT’s but you don’t feel like you are quite there yet – what are you missing? You are not alone; it is quite normal to feel like you have adequately prepared when you are facing any challenge in life. The secret is not to panic. Think about things from an objective view and if indeed you have covered all material you will soon start to feel better. That is not to say that you should slow down – even if your exams are months away and you feel that you are ready it is very important to keep going through the curriculum, doing practice papers and having discussion groups with your friends and classmates.
As you prepare for your exams you may assume that really getting into your books is all that matters. While it is important it is just one aspect of things. You also need to make sure your body is well nourished if you are going to go successfully through your SAT ‘or ACT exams. You should make sure that you eat a balanced diet – this is not the time to starve yourself. Remember, a healthy brain needs a large combination of nutrients, so you should eat balanced a few times a day. You should also make sure that you get enough sleep – at least 6 hours every night and plenty of hydration. You may feel like you don’t have the time for a little exercise but remember it will keep your brain sharp. Do something active for at least 30 minutes a day. It can be as simple as walking or getting on your bike and going around your neighborhood.
